If you’re just starting out, it can be easy to feel overwhelmed with options.This information is especially for women who are being introduced to wigs for medical reasons. Choosing a medical wig is a very personal decision and we are giving you a reference page to help you learn what you need to know to place your medical lace wig order with us.

We receive a lot of questions about our Medical Custom Cranial Prosthesis order options, so this page was created to thoroughly explain the ordering process. It's long, but informative.

Lets get started....

We have simplified this wig selection process for you. Below is a step by step guide to help guide you through each decision that you'll have to make, ensuring a result that you are happy with and makes you feel more like yourself again!

1. HAIR LENGTH

(Answer) Choose your desired hair length

When thinking about your new Medical Wig and the hair length, think about your lifestyle first and foremost. Think about your face shape and the haircuts that will best complement you. We have every length of wig imaginable

keep in mind your height and body structure plays a major roll when determining the actual location where the hair will fall on you. Our straight hair runs true to length, Wavy and curly hair is measured stretched. Please choose 1-2 inches longer for wavy hair, and 2-3 inches longer for curly hair to accommodate for the actual length you desire. It is always a good idea to order the hair a little longer if you are not sure, as it can be trimmed or styled shorter.

2. HUMAN HAIR ORIGIN

We have options for women of all different ethnicities. Here at Heavenly Tresses , we pride ourselves on providing the very best hair for clients of all different backgrounds. So no matter who you are or where you come from, we source a variety of virgin hair origins.

Filipino - 100% Virgin Hair procured in the Philippines. No other Asian hair origin has natural textures similar to women of African American descent like that of The Philippines. Is distinctive for its thicker individual strands and medium luster. Filipino Virgin Hair is also slightly courser than other hair types. Filipino Virgin Hair is naturally bone straight and is perfect for woman who love to wear their hair sleek and bone straight. Has a lot of body and bounce. Hairs comes in natural dark brown colors and the hair strands are thick and strong.

Brazilian (South American) - 100% Virgin Brazilian Virgin Hair is imported directly from remote villages in Brazil, Peru, Venezuela and Argentina. The donor hair comes from a mix of Spanish/Latin heritage. (South American) natural hair color is dark.The hair can be curled, straightened or styled just like your own hair and even dyed if that’s want you want to do.The hair tends to be very soft and silky and has a bouncy to it. Natural medium luster and beautiful natural slight wave pattern The hair is easy to style and holds curls very well.

Malaysian - 100% Virgin Hair has an extremely luxurious feel and is sleek and shiny, but not excessively shiny. Its luster is medium - similar to Brazilian hair. This hair hold curls extremely well without the use of products lots of versatility. It has great volume and thickness. This hair holds a curl well and straightens with ease. This natural hair color comes in dark browns. This hair blends very well with most hair types including African American. It does not swell or frizz in humid conditions making it low maintenance.

Russian - 100% European Virgin Hair is not as abundantly available as other hair origins hence is a highly sought after texture and very popular option among celebrities. hair is fine, and naturally straight or with a soft virgin wave. This hair is silky and shiny, the natural colors range from light brown to medium brown depending on availability. This hair is easy to manage and style

European Slavic/Caucasian - 100% Virgin Hair sourced from a person of European or Caucasian ancestry. European hair is very fine, soft and silky, and is preferred by many Caucasian women because it resembles the texture of their own hair. This hair has Exceptional strength, quality and beauty and is very fine. Natural colors range from light blonde to medium brown depending on availability. This hair is easy to manage and style (Hence the premium cost).

3. HUMAN HAIR TEXTURE

(Answer) Choose one of listed hair textures or you can upload your own photo.

One of the best parts of buying medical wig from Heavenly Tresses is the huge variety of styles/Hair textures to choose from. From Silky Straight to Curly. You can go au natural and choose a cut and style that matches your face and skin tone, or you can go fun and funky with a style that expresses a different side of your personality. No matter which route you go, choosing your style of wig is the best part of wig shopping!

4. MEDICAL GRADE CAP CONSTRUCTION & DESIGN

(Answer) Choose the type of medical cap style you would like

Full Lace

This is a full lace wig cap construction giving you the freedom to part the hair in any direction and style the unit however you'd like. With lace around the entire perimeter and a stretch center panel. Giving you limitless styling options. This wig has the option for an adjustable strap, elastic band or combs. Therefore, It will the use of glue or tape for application is optional.

Lace Front:
Our lace front wig cap construction is hand tied at the front section of the wig cap, with approximately 6 inches of lace going back and lace all around the entire front hairline. The back of the cap is hand wefted. The lace front wig like all Heavenly tresses wigs has our signature natural looking hairline. Although the lace front wig is partially wefted, there is still plenty of parting space and you can achieve a range of hairstyles. The lace front cap is soft and comfortable to wear. Glue is optional as the wig is secured with bendy ear tabs, combs an adjustable strap and a removable elastic band.

4. CAP SIZE / MEASUREMENTS

(Answer) Choose standard measurements (S,M,L) or provide us your
own custom measurements.

Please note: As we have average/standard sizes available in Extra Small - Large. However, clients can provide their own unique custom measurements.

6. PARTING STYLE

(Answer) Choose your desired parting style

Freestyle - No defined parting can be styled and parted in any direction.

Center/Middle Part - A clean and defined thin center parting in the unit

Left Part - A clean and defined single narrow curved left part

Right Part- A clean and defined single narrow curved right part

7. CUSTOMIZE YOUR WIG CAP

(Answer) Choose as many options as you would like:

Bleach Knots

Help make the hair appear as if it is growing from the scalp. When hair is tied to the lace, there is a dark knot where the hair is secured. Bleaching or "lightening" the knots reduces the visibility of this knot.

Extra Baby Hairs

Our Full Lace Wigs automatically come with baby hair around the full perimeter of the unit - for a natural finish! However if you'd like additional baby hairs added to the unit we can do that for you. It just comes down to personal preference.

Custom Hairline

You can now upgrade your lace wig and add an even more realistic "custom hairline" to your order. This "custom hairline upgrade option increases the natural look of your lace wig. By selecting this option we will create a really realistic hairline at the front of your unit. With a lot of soft baby hairs and a lower density around the hairline for the most natural look. The purpose of this is to take away any harsh lines around the perimeter of the lace wig so that it gives you a more flawless application. Each hair strand is hand knotted & carefully placed to ensure the cuticle of the hair is in the correct direction & also so you get the most natural hairline.

8. LACE COLOR

(Answer) Choose your desired lace color

The Purpose of the lace is to imitate your scalp color, not for your skin tone. For a better match part your hair, and look at a the scalp color before making your selection Medium brown will fit many different tones of brown scalps, so it will be a perfect color for most African American Women and Latin Women. Pick light brown for Olive skin tones and Transparent for Caucasian scalp tones. When in doubt about the right match, it is better to select a lighter lace color than a darker one.

9. HAIR COLOR

(Answer) Choose either one solid base color or more advance color option.

One Base Hair Color

Starting from the roots this is going to be your main or primary solid color.

More Advanced Color Options

Ombré

Hair that is dark at the root, and blends into a lighter shade as it gets towards the ends.

Balayage

First of all balayage (pronounced bah-lee-AHZGE) is a technique we use to highlight your hair, and can be used to achieve many different looks. With balayage, also known as hair painting, the lightener or hair color is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect from end to root and is all about creating beautiful blends of multi-dimensional color.

Highlights

Consist of thin or thick strands of hair that we lightened at least 2 shades lighter than the rest of your unit. Your highlights can be any tone or any shade of light or dark. As long as they are lighter than your overall base hair color. Of course we can place the highlights where ever you would like. You unit is a canvass. With highlights, you can go as funky or as natural as you please.

10. STANDARD OR CUSTOM HAIR DENSITY

(Answer) Choose your desired hair density

Density is the amount of hair hand-tied to your unit. Density refers to how thick OR thin the hair is. The hair density that you order is really based on personal choice and what looks best on you.

Standard - 120% (Hairline) to 130% (Overall) - This is the normal density of our stock units.

Custom - You can specify two different densities for different parts of the wig

1) Hairline and 2) Overall Density.

11. CUT AND STYLE

If you are on the fence about ordering from Heavenly Tresses, let me tell you the customer service is top notch from start to finish. They even follow up after you receive your piece! The Milan is thick and it is long. I was intimidated by this at first because it’s the longest and thickest unit I own. However I work with kids and I have been called out before for my wig - kids have no filter. I have never had this issue with any hair purchased with this company. It looks so natural - even this thick one!

I bought Lilly (stock) and customized it myself. The hair is gorgeous, soft, and very, very durable. The lace is invisible on the skin, but shows ever so slightly over my bio hair. I glue down the very front with got2be. The cap construction is of highest quality, very minimalist and as seamless as possible. I got my second custom-made Kim from them as well and I'm very impressed. Their wigs are for true wig wearers who know wigs and expect to get as close to perfection as possible. I will keep getting my wigs from Heavenly. Oh and one more thing to add, no matter if I'm dressed down for an occasion, with this hair on, I know I look great.

Nice quality but too thick

I just received my unit. It is very full. In fact, too full for me personally but if you are looking for a densely thick, soft and full wig, this is for you. The part and hairline are very natural looking and the hair did not shed when combing it at all. I'm going to have to try and press it out a little more straight. But is is nice quality and I love that I could add more combs and the band has hooks so you can adjust how tight the band is. I would not buy this particular wig again but I would try a less kinky style given the hair quality and ability to customize. It also is a shame it takes so long to receive. But customer service is responsive and and I will work with them to get more information on the best wig texture for what I'd like. I'lll send this one to my sister if I can not it to appear more straight or thin it out a bit. Overall worth it but I just purchased the wrong texture.

Perfect Blonde Unit!

This unit is worth the money. It is stunning the perfect blonde shade for me and the fullness is from roots through to the ends. I was able to install it myself using the band and clips attached. I've had it for a while now. No excessive shedding or anything. The hair is excellent quality.
