What is a "Silk Top" Base Wig
WHAT IS A SILK TOP FULL LACE WIG?
A silk top is an addition to a wig that allows for an extremely natural look. Heavenly Tresses signature silk top is made of a triple silk layer material that discreetly conceals the wigs knots, creating a 'growing-from-your scalp' look.
WHY SILK TOP HAS ADVANTAGES ?
Silk Top Lace Wigs are the most realistic lace wig caps on the market today. Most luxury high end wigs use a silk top base addition as the knots are hidden under the double layer silk insert at the center of the crown for real natural looking partings, and an illusion of “flesh tone” or a realistic scalp look .
The hair is injected through the silk material making the knots 100% invisible, giving the illusion that the hair is actually growing out of your own scalp. You don't need to bleach the knots, you don't need to worry about any other techniques to make the knots appear less visible.
WHAT ARE KNOTS?
Knots are created when the individual strands of hair are hand-tied to the lace base. Knots create a dark visible pitted effect giving an unnatural appearance to the wig. At Heavenly Tresses we bleach these knots around the perimeter to make the knots appear smaller, lighter and less visible.

- Silk material comes in different sizes **The silk material doesn't cover the entire wig**
- Silk material begins approximately 1/2 to 1 centimeter from the hairline. (There is 1/2 centimeter of Swiss Lace before the silk top begins).
